- Many years ago there was a beggar-man who used to stop in a farmers house near Rathangan. This farmer had a son. The beggarman used to go away, and he went when the farmer died and no one was left in the house but his son.
Some years after the beggarman came back to the house and saw that it was ruined. He asked the son what was the reason. The said that his father had died and left no money with him. The beggarman said the money was buried in the barn and he said he was there when his father was burying the money and he said whoever would find his money his life would be sold. The beggarman then asked the boy had he a chicken and the boy said he had.
