    of the arches and tracery of the windows were more ornamental than either of those of the churches of Selskar's or St Patrick's.
    St Mary's is believed to be the last parochial church used from the time of the "Reformation" to the building of the new churches of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption opened in 1867.
    The bell of St Mary's is still preserved. it appears to have escaped the vandalism of Cromwell's soldiers only to be removed by the authorities to the Protestant Church of Castlebridge.
    After many years service there it was sold at old metal to a dealer in Wexford, and was used in the Dockyard.
    Its identity, however, becoming the late Rev. James Johnson C.S.S.R. when a young man purchased it and presented it to the Monastery of the Christian Brothers, Wexford where it may still be heard.
