There are not many paths near the school but there is one fairly long one going from The Wexford Road through Ballytramont wood. This path would bring you to Wexford. There are other small paths of no account.
The rivers long ago before bridges were made were crossed by fords and stepping stones.
On the road leading to Wexford there was a place called the "Toker" which means ford and it is said the Abbot of Dunbrody lost his life here when going to visit the Abbot of Begerin.
On May Day the Maybush is generally places on the cross-roads and on most of the cross-roads around all the men meet together on the summer evenings.
Another custom is a person having a crowing hen which is supposed to be unlucky, they bring her to the nearest cross-roads and let her off about her business.
