   It happened that one of the O' Carrolls was very ugly and he wanted to marry a girl who was very pretty. The girl refused to marry him. He took her up to the top of the tower, and left her beside the murder hole to decide between death and marriage with him. He then left her alone to make up her mind. She was wondering what to do. She did not want to marry him as he had a very bad temper as well as being very ugly in appearance. After some time she decided to jump from the top of the tower and be killed. She went to the side of the tower, jumped over, and fell into a palm tree which grew up around her and hid her from view. O' Carroll then went up to the top of the tower to see if she had made her decision. Thinking that the girl had jumped into the hole, he threw himself in and was killed.
   To this very day his ghost is supposed to be seen, searching for the
