    ago a man knocking down a ditch on the land of Mr J Doyle's at Ballymacsimon found a burial urn containing burnt bones it inverted on a flag and enclosed in a sort of stone box constructed of four flags on their edges, and another flag stone on top, unfortunately the find was not preserved. A similar urn was found in Coolnakilly, it is in the national Museum.
    These burials were from what is known as "The bronze age". That is to say the time when people had no iron or steel and all implements and stools were made of bronze, the burials were in days before Christ came on earth and it was then the custom to burn the dead and bury their bones, in a urn.
    The urn was made of brick clay and they were baked with heat of the sun or in some manner inferior to our present methods of making pottery, like our present day, large pots they somewhat resemble the old urns, but are much better baked or burned in a kiln. The bronze age lasted almost down to the time of Christ and it is possible that burning the dead was the custom until
