- The old people say that "ghosts" invaded this townland some centuries ago. The "banshee" or "white woman" was said to visit the townland at different times in early ages. When anyone convenient to the local fairy forts in the townland died, the "banshee" was heard crying round the houses of the dead. Once James Smith met an old woman dressed in white on the road or pass where the Cavan-Dublin road now runs. This James Smith was from Killagrogan. Smith spoke to the woman calling her by name and the woman asked "Who have I" and he said, James Smith. They had a short conversation(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
