Long ago the people used to churn the milk by use of a horse, because there were no creameries and they used to have very heavy churnings. They used to put the butter into tubs and bring them to the markets to be sold. Our churn is worked by the hand. the churn dash is moved upwards and downwards. When it is finished the dash gets clear and ti si given a rolling motion from side to side. Water is poured in during churning to give it a right heat. More water is poured in, in winter than in summer because the milk is colder. When the dash gets clear the lid is lifted off. and the butter is taken out and washed well and then salted and
