    sometimes their arms would become swollen as a result, this paste was pulled in pieces by the hands and pressed into a wooden box with no bottom in it, which was called a mould when this was smoothed and leveled over, the mould was taken up and the bricks left on a level smooth part of the field to dry, they had to be turned like turf, when dry they were built into a certain shape called a kiln and covered over with sods and other covering such as turf mould.
    A fire of turf was next lit inside this kiln in order to burn the bricks and make them hard, while this burning was going on a man had to remain with them for a couple of days and nights to see that the fire would not come through the outter covering, as this would cause the bricks to burn into a solid mass, this burning had to be done in very calm weather as any little breeze would cause the fire to blaze too much to one side and not enough to the other, also some of the bricks would
