- Once upon a time there was a steamer sailing from Ireland to New York. When they were three days sailing a large shark made his appearance and followed the ship watching to get something. They threw a chair out to him, but the shark still followed. They they threw a pot out to him. He also swallowed the pot and still kept following on. They they threw out a goat to him. He swallowed the goat and did not seem to be satisfied. There was an old woman on board the steamer who had no friends belonging to her.
No body liked her, and they said they would throw the old woman(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
