Seeds of various kinds are brought to the market-square for sale on Saturdays, and the local buyers or "seedmen" as they are called commence buying about eleven o'clock and conclude about one o'clock Each bag of seeds when bought is weighed on the marked-house crane, and a tare of three pence is charged by the owner of the crane for each bag.
