- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was thrown from him and was killed. The well is said to have sprung up on the spot where the holy priest breathed his last. Many cures are related through the power of the water.
- At Carnaross Co. Meath there is a holy well called St. Ciarans well. Evry year crowds go there on the first Sunday in August. Others go on the previous night and spend the whole night before the well. At twelve o'clock on that night two strange looking fish come out on the well and after disappearing they are never seen until the same time(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
