- There are many ancient buildings in Kells. Amongst the many are St. Columkille's House, The Spire of Loyd and the Round-tower. Long ago when the Danes were plundering in Ireland, a secret passage was made underground from the Spire of Loyd to the the Tower about four miles. The passage is never used now.

St. Columkille's House is also to be seen. The house is made completely of stone. In the interior (continued after entry Berine Boland)
