you will never see it again.” ; so he he got up and away with him and never lifted his eyes off it but at last he fell into a hedge and then he couldn’t see it any more so he sat there crying. She came back to him again and said “I will bring you in sight of it, this time, myself.” He landed at it safely and after getting a quarter of barley, he was put to bed and his bed was a double harrow with pins on it. The next morning he got the some breakfast (a quarter of barley). Then the owner came in and told him to clear out the stable and get his great grandmother’s ring but as soon as he’d throw out the manure it id’ come back in again and in the end it come in so quick that it was up to the roof. The lady came in and asked him what was the matter and he told her and she said “I will clean it out for you” and she began saying the whole time “auld ‘grape’ to work; new ‘grape’ to work”, and she ‘claned’ it out and got the ring and then she said “My father will come and will say to you, “Green Leaf or this ‘divil’ ‘done’ this for you”; but you say that you disown Green Leaf and do not know the 'divil' ". The man came in and said "Green Leaf or the 'divil' 'done' this for you"; but he answered as he was told. The next morning the owner came in and told him to get the eagle’s eggs from the tree on the on the island and have them for my supper. He said to himself “this is an ‘aisy’ task because I was a good swimmer when I was at home but he made a big mistake for every perch he’d go he’d be thrown back another one and sometimes id’ be thrown back on the bank. [?] Green Leaf then came down and asked him what was the matter he ‘tauld’ it all to her, trembling. She then touched the water with a wand and a lovely green pad led up to the tree and he got the eggs but she said “I will make steps with my five finger and be sure when you are coming down to touch every one of my fingers with your right hand or I am undone”. He ‘done’ this all
