On one occasion an accident occurred .As the boys were rushing down the hill leading to Lough Graney going to mass,one missed the narrow pass,which would have taken him on to the public road ,and the other side and went headlong into the lake .A current took him some distance out and he was at the point of drowning .None of his companions could swim. The situation was dreadful .Suddenly a grey mare trotted towards the bewildered crowd.One brave lad astride the mare rode into the water .He, and his mount in nick of time rescued the drowning man and landed him safely .At full gallop the grey mare,and the man he saved, reached Tulla(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
