- Long ago perhaps sixty years ago there lived in the town of Doneraile Co Cork a woman called Mary Sheehan. She earned her living by washing for neighbours and doing little jobs. She was a miser. She had four children all of whom went to America except one daughter who remained at home with her mother. This daughter used earn enough to support the two of them. The mother was very old and thinking she was about to die asked her daughter to drive her in the donkey and car to see the grave she would be buried in. When they arrived at the graveyard gate Mary went in but told her daughter to wait outside. The daughter watched her closely. After a while Mary bent down over the grave near the headstone and started scraping the earth. Her daughter didn't understand what her mother was doing and they went back home. Next day Mary was dying and her daughter didn't know what to do for money to bury her. However she thought of what she had seen the day previously and went immediately to the graveyard. Here where she had seen her mother scraping the soil she found two boxes of sovereigns(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
