    Basket-making. The late Mr. Quinlan who was one of the best basket-makers in Tallow made all sorts of fancy baskets, also clothes, baskets, cradles and basket traps. He used to carry his baskets to Youghal and sell them there. His son and his family are still keeping the trade on. I had the pleasure of seeing one of his beautiful cradles which was made with coloured twigs. A lot of his work is to be seen around Ireland. He used to get the twigs in a twig yard which is near the River Bride. He used to bring the baskets to Youghal in a boat.
