Often (slán mar a n-innstear é) when a person dies the lower jaw drops and the mouth will not remain shut. A band has then to be put under the jaw and tied around the head tightly. This band is the Marbhadh Fáisg. It may be made of any material.- Collector

- I have spoken to half-a-dozen blacksmiths and with them the form of curse or revenge was only a tale that is told. They heard of it, but they knew nothing more about it. They put the Cross of Christ between themselves and all such things.
