  1. The worst day I ever saw was the 5th February 1932. The morning was very fine but there was about a foot of snow on the ground.
That morning my brother and I set out for school. About twelve o'clock that day it began to snow. When we came out from school in the evening we were blinded with the snow. To make things worse there was a North breeze blowing that would cut the nose off a brass monkey.
My father was outside the school gate to meet me and he as white as one of the snow-drifts in the "Rabbit Hollow". He had to carry me home on his back, and it was with great difficulty he struggled along.
There were deep drifts along the road at Corker, and all traffic was blocked. People had to bring in lambs and sheep. There were drifts in places as high as the houses.
