    Some people in the Ballygar area take the cat a part of the way to town with them so that they will have good luck. There is one man, I know, who packs the cat in with pigs when he is starting out for the fair. He takes precautions against the cat's escape by taking a few ribs of his whiskers, so that even though the cat may disappear, he feels that his is secure in the possession of the charm in the cat's whiskers.
