    White and blue are the customary colours to be married in and there are a number of old sayings in the district which I live in, concerning other colours, which are considered unlucky to be married in. These are a number of them;
    Married in white,
    You have chosen right.
    Married in blue,
    He is sure to be true.
    Married in black,
    You will wish yourself back.
    Married in yellow,
    Ashamed of the fellow.
    Married in read,
    You would wish yourself dead.
    Married in green,
    Not to be seen.
