  1. Some time ago there lived in Askeaton an old man who used to tell very strange tales. One morning he seemed to be in very bad form and not inclined to eat any breakfast. When asked what was wrong he replied that he (he) had spent the night in Hell.
    To use his own words, "After going in a big door I sat down on a form. "Good night Jack," said the head Devil. There were crowds of people there and every-one of them had to ride a red hot mule in his turn.
