    Long before St. Patrick came to Ireland there was a well in the Ox mountains in Sligo. One day there was a cow quenching her thirst beside this well. A little boy rushed to put her away when he got entangled in her tail.
    When the cow felt the weight on her tail she started to run so as to throw it off. She kept running until she reached Killala bay. When she was running she drew the boy on the ground and he formed a furrow with his feet. Then the water rushed from the well and thus was the origin of
