Ar an leathanach seo

  1. A comfortable farmer lived convenient to the village of Sonnaghbeg and the farm or place where the house was built was called Cúl Ruadh. He got married & on coming out from the church on the day of the marriage he thought that a red haired woman tried to get between & his bride. Early that night at the wedding he felt troubled & he got ready for home. One or two of his friends accompanied him. Coming down the avenue leading to his home he fancied he saw the red-haired woman again. After getting into the house he became delirious & in the morning he was dead. Rumour had it that he became so violent that he was smothered between the feather beds. The bride after getting the dowry back returned to her father's home. The house was closed up & for some years after it was used only as a stable & the farm was worked by the next akin who lived about half a mile away. One night in the month of January one of the gables of the house fell & a hair-raising roaring commenced. It moved across where the village of Sonnaghbeg once stood on to the Mass path that led to the Glinsk Chapel. It continued until it reached the Chapel. It moved round the Chapel Yard and on to the door of the priest's house. The priest's sister who lived with him ran from her sleeping apartment to the priest's room as did also the servant-man. The priest calmed their fears and after a time the roaring
