- A Clever BoyOnce upon a time, a man was working with a gentleman, and his son used to go with him an odd time. One time he stole a box of silver spoons, and when the father heard that, he gave them back to the gentleman. When the gentleman heard all about it, he asked the man to give him the son, and he would send him to learn his trade.
So the father agreed, and the boy came back in three years with his trade learned. Also, the trade learned was to be a rogue.
When he came back, the gentleman said to him "Have you learned your trade?". "Oh yes, I have", answered the boy. "Then if you have, steal the two horses out of the plough tomorrow, and the ploughmen with them".(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
