Geography was taught on the ground, maps of countries and river, etc, traced with pebbles. Letters were also formed with small stones, and then burned sticks were used to form them on rough paper. The last teacher who taught in Annagelliffe Hedge school was Séan Caughey, he was born in the townland of Latt, and is buried in the old graveyard of Annagiliffe(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Bailitheoir
