    Ballintubber Abbey.
    Ballintubber Abbey is situated in the -
    Townland - Ballintubber,
    Parish - Carnacon,

    It is about six miles from Mountpleasant school. It was built by Cahal O'Connor King of Connaught (Cathal Crobh Dearg) in the year 1216 a.d. for the Augustinian Friars. The townland is called
