    The Month's Visit.
    When a girl was married she did not visit her parents' home for a month. Then another gay time awaited her, and she sometimes remained for a week with her people.
    Customs on the Marriage Morning.
    When the bride was leaving her home to be married, the tongs and a coal of fire were thrown after her to bring her good luck.
    A horse shoe was also placed on her path so that she might see and pick it up. That action was also supposed to bring good luck.
    The Bride's Dress.
    The bride was usually gaily attired, she was supposed to wear.
    "Something old, something new
    Something borrowed, and something blue
    A distribution of "nick nacks" of her bridal attire amongst her best girl friends was supposed to bring them a husband speedily.
    It is considered unlucky for two or more of one family to marry within a year, as
