One time a girl in Gorlough suffered from a very sore finger, the doctors failed to cure it, one evening she went to the well in Gorlough and made a station there saying the same prayers as are said at a well in Cille Geever.
Next morning all trace of the sore on the finger had disappeared.
In olden times there used to be a pilgrimage to this well lasting for a week,
The pilgrims came long distances and their fervour was very great.
Then tinkers and tramps followed the pilgrims in order to get alms from them and thus abuses set in resulting in the stoppage of the pilgrimages by the Church.
