    saw her father and if any body had a sore mouth she could cure it by blowing her breath into it on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
    Ringworm: Sulphur and unsalted butter were the former cures for ringworm.
    A Cold: If a person had a very bad cold and if he drank snipe soup he would get better.
    Wild Fire: If anybody in olden times had wild fire and if he wrote his name around it, after a few days it would disappear.
    Sore Back: A good cure for a sore back is to apply a mustard blister to it.
    For an ordinary cold they prescribed gruel made from buttermilk and oatmeal.
    For a sore throat onions boiled in milk was recommended and for all skin diseases sulphur and treacle were taken every morning with good results.
