    receiving because they could not pay for them otherwise. There used to be a "strap" too if a person dealt in the same shop always they would thing without paying for until they [would] get the money and this was called "strap".
    There were markets held in three places one in Irishtown, one in [blonemorris] and one in the [ballendin] but there is none held in Irishtowne [nos] there were [husctices] going through the country looking for rags, bottles, horse hair and feathers.
    The coins long ago were called a "tammer," was sixpence, a "bob" was a shilling, a "guid" was a pound and a "crown" was five shillings. "two and a hicker" was half a crown. There were [souverneirs] they were
