- There once lived in this village a man who thought himself very smart, so one day it was proved that he was far from being smart. Himself and two other men from the village were going on foot to a funeral which took place five or six miles distance from their homes. They were making a short cut across the fields.
When they came to a certain place a number of chapels in the different parishes around could be seen.
One of the men who knew the place well was showing the other two the chapels.
"Look here now" he said, pointing in one direction, "that is Cong chapel" "I see it", said this old fellow, and he was looking in an entirely different direction. "No, nor the dickens a see", said the other man.
"That is Shrule chapel" said the man pointing towards it.
