  1. There was a man named Raftery who used to ramble about this place as a poet or poor scholar.
    It happened one night that he lodged in a house where a baby was born. The baby was weak and died without getting baptism.
    When the priest heard that Raftery was in the house he blamed him very hard when he did not give the child lay-baptism.
    Raftery said he didn't know how so the priest said he would show him in case it would happen in his wanderings again.
    Raftery said alright so the priest took Raftery's old hat and placed it in his arm as though it were a child
    He then started away to show him
