    was lifting the water she heard a voice which told her to tell the fairies, "That the fort was on fire," and so the woman hurried home and told them the news.
    All the fairies hurried out when they heard that the fort was on fire but when the woman went to the children's room she got the blood taken out of their throats. But she took a bit of the cake that they had been making and left it on the top of each child's and they were all right again.
