Wild-fire-: Remedy:-
When the people long ago got wild-fire, they used to go to a person by the name of bahill, to cut his hand, and to put the blood of it up to the wild-fire, and then it would go. Ink was another cure for it.
Sore-throat-: Remedy:-
To cure a sore throat, the people long ago would put a green cabbage near the fire, and melt a bit of butter up on it and put it up to their throat.
A Burn-: Remedy:-
For a burn the people long ago used to put a burned dork-leaf up to it. Flour too was another good thing for a burn.
About twenty years ago there lived in Knockanore, Co. Waterford a man named harry thynm. If your leg was broken, or your wrist, or any whole thing, he could fix the bones together with his two hands. All the people all over the country sent for him.- Informant
