  1. A long time ago miners came to look for copper here in Bonmahon. First of all they built a big house in which to put their tools in which is now Saleen Chapel.
Some years after a great plague came and the miners turned the tool house into a kind of a hospital in which to put poor people and give them food.
One night the people in the hospital were awakened with a terrible noise on the roof of the house. When morning came they found foot-marks on the roof of the chapel which is said to be the Blessed Virgin.
