    if he had not the dinner on the table for him when he (General Folliot) reached Wardtown Castle. Jack, having five minutes start, started and when the General reached the castle Jack had the dinner on the table and he was waiting to take his horse. Nobody knows how Jack beat the General but, probably, he swam across the channel while the General had to cross the bridge.

    They lived in the Cloghan, near Bishop Street. They could both swim from the falls to the “Bar” and they could dive into the river and take fish out of a net.
