- (continued from previous page)Long ago, straw boys would go to the house of the bride after the weeing because the bride always had a feast on the wedding night. These boys were dressed in straw and they used to sing and dance. Now a feast is help in the wedding day and the bride and groom go away for a week or so on a holiday. This holiday is called a honeymoon. When they come home there is a big feast in the groom’s house. It is said if an old shoe is thrown after the married pair it would bring them luck.
