  1. The old ancient names of fields around our house are, "the still house field." There must have been stilling there in that field in the olden days. There is another field called "the black field," because there is black clay in it. "The silver field" because there is a gray rock in it. The "well green" a piece of green land and a well in it. "Mary Hurleys field", in which the woman is now dead. "The Heathery Hill" heather must have been grown there long ago. "The mill hill," there is a big hill in this field, a mill must have been situated in that hill years ago. "The quarry field," because there is a quarry in it.
