    People around here keep Good Friday a half holiday and most of the people eat nothing until noon.
    On May Eve people pull flowers and put them on a stick in front of the house in honour of the Blessed Virgin.
    On Hallow Eve it is the custom to get apples and nuts. They are eaten in the home at night. The young people play many games on that night.
    It is a rule among the people around this part not to eat any meal on St. Stephen's Day and you will not take any fever.
    Smut Sunday is the first Sunday in Lent and all the girls who are not married on that day have a smut on them.
