  1. Travelling Folk.
    December 21st; 1938
    There are many kinds of people who travel round the country. Tinkers frequently visit Malahide in little flat carts. Often they have mats and little tables made from sticks which they cut from hedges as they pass. They come round to sell them at the doors. They are not very welcome when they come and some people are afraid of them. Tinkers, when they come, go down to the dumping-ground and look for things that have been thrown out.
