    demerara sugar. Leave it in a jug over night. Give it to the invalid. Tie a large warm round the child's neck for three days. Then the cough will go.
    Hold the child over boiling tar.
    Take the child to the gas works. The fumes of the gas will take away the cough.
    Give a piece of bread to a donkey. Pick up the crumbs. Boil them in milk. This is also a cure for the whooping cough.
    Colds.
    Boiled onions and milk.

    A posset of scalded butter milk.
    Tallow rubbed on the chest.
    Boiled flaxseed, put lemon and sugar into it.
    Make gruel put sugar and butter into it.
    Headache.
    Strong tea. A wet bandage tied on
