An old native of Rossinver told me the following story of his native place as told to him by his grandfather.

    (continued from previous page)
For every cat began to meow The minute he stopped at Locan Dhee
He came from Darry and Mayo from Galway and Donegal
From Swanlinbar and from the Hall
And from Kiltycloghe and Rossinver But I can not fit to tell their numbers
    He came from Bandoran
    Kinlough Fullaghan and Molson
There was black cats white cats grey cats and brown.
There was wild cats tame cats
    Blind cats and lame cats
They rose from Barn and Byre
    And from every kitchen fire
And al with one desire to fight at Locan Dhee
