  1. Hidden Treasure
    A few fields away from our house there is a high. It is elevated above the land about one hundred feet. Long ago when my grand father was a little boy about the age of ten or eleven years he heard at school about the crock of gold and he made up his mind to discover it. One evening about seven o'clock he and his first cousin went to the hill in search of it. They had only a spade and a small shovel to dig the earth, there was a black cat and a turkey minding the treasure. These animals could change their shape and colour. They dug for a long time and my grandfather's cousin said his spade hit something hard, and at that moment the cat and turkey appeared to them and said ''be off'' and when I die said the turkey ''ye can have the crock of gold'' Neither of them were afraid for they knew what was going to happen. They took their tools and turned their steps towards home, they never went to look for again. I heard this story told by
