  1. Prayers
    When going to bed:-
As I lay down my weary head,
    Jesus be about my bed.
Darkness is to Thee as light
and keep me safely through the night.
    In bed:-
    Four corners on my bed,
    Four angels on them spread,
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,
God bless this bed that I lie on.
If I die before I wake.
To God I give my soul to take.
    In bed:-
Pray father pray to God to bless me
Pray mother pray to God to bless me
Pray all pray to God to bless me
To make me true and faithful,
    To my life's end. Amen.
    When lying down in bed:-
In the name of thee, O Lord
Jesus Christ crucified, I lay me down to rest, govern, defend and instruct me, and after this short and miserable pilgrimage bring me, and bring us all to life everlasting.
