  1. Away back 70 years ago, there was no shop in this district. There was one in Tullaghan village which is 3 and a half miles from the school, owned by a man named Joe McGloin. At this time, it was a Grocer one, later on it became a grocery and bar and presently is a bar only. The present owner Joe Mc Gloin is a direct descendant of the former owner. From him, Biddy Gibbons who had a travelling shop used to get all his goods. Biddy Gibbons lived at Bunduff Bridge, the present owner of that house is Hugh McGloin.
