    There was a man by the name of O'Shea living at Ventry at the west of Dingle...

    There was a man by the name of O'Shea living at Ventry at the west of Dingle. Every seven years there was a great big tower seen out in the strand from Ventry. One day when Mr. O'Shea was training a horse for a priest on the strand, he saw the tower appearing. He rode out towards it and when he drew near it, he discovered that there was a net all around the tower. He dismounted the horse and began to roll up the net to take it home with him. He had the most of it rolled up when the voice of a mermaid came from inside the wall calling to Marmar Mac Lir the god of the sea to send on a
