    My grandmother who lives in Gurrane related to me the following story concerning her grandmother who was taken away by the fairies.
    It happened that when one of her children was taken away to the chapel to be baptized she was left alone, although her husband was warned to take good care of her. Necessity took the man out, and on returning, he heard some awful noise. Hastening to the house, he saw a strange woman lying in his wife's place.
    One night about a week after this, he was sitting by the fire lamenting his loss, when a rustling noise made him turn round. He saw his
