    Luckily there was no damage done, save for a few hall-mats, which escaped with the rush of water when the various doors were opened.
    The generosity of the Celbridge people was shown to a great extent on this occasion, as cars could be seen bringing eatables to the people in the upper storeys.
    In the after-noon the people were seen emerging from their houses, to gossip to the neighbours about the eventful happenings of the morning.
