   When the robin cries it is a sign of rain. When the cat scrapes if is a sign of wind. A white frost brings rain. Red shades around the sum in the west is a sign of fine weather. When the leaves remain on the trees late it is the sign of a hard winter. A black frost brings cold weather. Birds near the door of the house indicate snow. If the motor boat can be heard distinctly on the canal frost may be expected. The cricket singing is a sign of rain. Ducks quacking loudly show rain is coming. When the cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of hardship. A smell from the bushes is a sign of wind.
