  1. There is an old man in this district who told me that there was a highwayman in this place one time whose name was Donnacada Dubh. When he was captured and sentenced to death, he said that his gold was hidden between two lakes under a flag facing north. The old person beleives that it is between Loch na Ceardhchain which is situated in Baileuachtarach, and Loch Meilthíne which is situated in Corravalley and between the two lakes there are numbers of flags facing north. Nobody ever attempted to find it; as they do not know rightly which flag it is hidden under.
